Kids suprise visit for Claudia's birthday

Last week on Wednesday all of our daughters and grandkids suprised Claudia for her birthday. When she opened the door she screamed and cried which made all the grandkids start to cry! They had confetti, ballons and silly string.

Here they are at the pumkin patch in Moorpark.

Childhood memories

The Stump. This was located at the end of the street we lived on and was also on the way to grandparents home in Brigham City so we would stop often to get a drink. The stump was just the lower half by that time. It has been replaced by a concrete replica now but the water still flows. It was from a well that a farmer drilled many years ago.

This was our home - 1226 E 2600 North in North Ogden. Right at the base of the mountains. I lived here from about 3 months of age until I was 10.

This is the chapel were I was baptized. We attended a different chapel that was also two stories. They have torn that one down and rebuilt it now.

North Ogden Elementry. Much smaller than I remember! I was later transfered to a new school they built.

Ready for Pre-school

We stopped by Tricia & Damon's home on the way up to Utah (drove Cyndi & Craigs car up). Tricia had to be at her school first thing and then I drove Shane over for them to go to his "meet the teacher" day before pre-school started.

Trevor hopped on the rocking lamb all by himself. He had fun showing us how he can rock!

Rainbow

A few weeks ago in the morning we had some lightning & thunder. I went out and saw a full rainbow out over the ocean. The top picture is how it came out on the camera. The bottom one is with some auto adjustments done by Picassa software (also used to upload this to our blog! The storm did not come in over land. I can't remember when the last time we had a thunder storm before this one.

Saturday outing

Aloha Beach Festival on the Ventura Promenade
Sept. 15, 2007

Dave & Claudia at Bandits Restaurant

These are our FIRST BLOG Pictures! Claudia & I went down to the beach & fairgrounds on Saturday afternoon. Ventura was having its third annual Aloha Beach Festival along the promenade. There were food and craft booths, hula hoop-ers, and skate boarders doing stunts along the way. They were even holding a surfing competition at Surfer's Point, with bleachers for spectators. The waves were only 3 feet high, but they were having fun. The announcer detailed each move of the surfer entrant, a turn, changed to goofy foot, etc.

After seeing everything at the Beach Festival, we walked across the street to the fairgrounds, for a home show. Lots of different companies selling their services (newwindows, hot tubs, landscape artists, etc.) for the home. We saw an old friend, Dan Drake, the chimney sweep in one of the booths. He was one of our customers at Quality Copy and we had him clean our chimney back in the days when it was wood burning (now gas logs only). At a granite counter booth there was a young boy around 10 years old that gave a real good presentation and asked if we wanted a flyer. He was one of the best salesmen we ran into all day.

After leaving the fair we did a bit of shopping around town(Claudia's errands). By that time it was dinner time, so we drove out to Camarillo and ate a place called Bandits. It is a cowboy themed BBQ place. As you enter, by the door, they have a big barrel of peanuts for you to eat and you just throw the shells on the floor. We had really yummy BBQ sandwiches, corn on the cob and beans. See the saddles in the background? Very thematic decor.

Our new blog

Well I finally got our blog set up. Will have to find some good photos to post.
Claudia drove Gigi up Wheeler Canyon today. They enjoyed seeing some horses and cows and being out in the country.
